Charlene in COP14- Day3 (12/10)

I started this morning with a cool experience. I joined the European Parliament press conference with youth and might appear on the media. Although I hold the flag of Finland(there are only flags of european countries), it was like trying to make the world as a unity from my standpoint because of my Asian background. I like the feeling of being in the unity. There's a slogan called " Save the package. Save the planet." The officer said that: "the climate change and energy package is one of the most significant pieces of work the EU has carried out over recent years." You can go to this web page to check more information about the package:

When I was having my lunch in a restaurant today, I met a group of Japanese officers. One of them said something in Japanese as soon as he approached my table. But anyway, he found out that I am not a Japanese soon after I replied in English. Some people said that I look like a Singaporian, some say people from China, now there's one thought that I look like a Japanese...haha!
The menu of the restaurant was all written in Polish, so usually we foreigners could only point something on the menu and expecting for the surprise. I was in Poland for more than two months last year, so I managed to catch up some Polish. A year has passed and I thought I forgot my Polish. However, ever since I arrived Poznan, my Polish started to surge in my brain. So I am able to prounce something in Polish or recognize somthing in Polish. Among the my foreign friends, I am the one who is able to help them with Polish. (but actually my polish was not as good as 1 year ago). So today, I helped the Japanese officers to order their food. One of them even said "xie xie ni(謝謝你)" to me...hehe

I went to the side event today, and I found something interesting. Usually I will think that people will fully concentrate in the events, but in the event today, I saw a lot of people dozing off and being absent- minded. That was not what I imagined before I came here. I couldn't help but wonder, there are so many people walking really fast in this conference, but do they really enjoy that? Or they are occupied with their work here? Or, is it that they are just trying to be as quick as other people in order to fit in? Those are interesting questions to think about.
